TACG commissioned to build School Centenary Garden

Robert Miles Infants school in Bingham celebrate their 100th year in 2010 and as part of the celebration they have received funding to have their own centenary garden to mark the passing of the centenary. They contacted several professional landscaping contractors to visit their grounds and asked them to design and quote for a sensory themed garden with many extra features such as a solar designed water feature and a sensory path. Town & Country had also come highly recommended from Westdale Lane Juniors School after installing a sensory garden there in 2008 which was opened by Vernon Coaker MP for Gedling. After narrowing down the 12 designs the school opted for Town & Country’s offering, this was due to the detailed and well laid out plan. The work is due to commence in March 2010 and completed by April. An opening is planned to celebrate the centenary.

Willow Structures for 2010 around Schools in East Midlands

Willow structures are becoming fast a popular site at schools around the country, from archways to large domes willow makes a sustainable and eco-friendly object in the playground. Installing willow structures is an art and skill itself, combine that with showing pupils how it is done and teaching them the benefits of the material and it becomes a valuable lesson as well as an attractive sustainable structure in the school grounds. New look for TACG and brand new website

Earlier in 2009 Town & Country decided to revamp the company’s image and bring in to line with the corporate and commercial market that it services to its clients. Xuny design came along and listened to our ideas and went away with the remit of creating a new and professional logo, website, brochures and other related media. Once the logo was agreed the website design went ahead as well as all of the new media and went live in July 2009. New livery was applied to the vehicles and new uniforms were provided for staff. We are extremely pleased with the new look and feel of the business and are thankful to all at Xuny for their creativity and design in making the whole process simple and uncomplicated throughout.

Accreditations

Town & Country have achieved recognition for their professionalism and conduct from both Constructionline and CHAS in March 2009. All of our new stationery, website etc shall carry both logos.

Sensory Garden at Westdale Junior School

Westdale Junior School wanted an area where the children could not only play but also learn, the play ground at the city school was a mass of tarmac and concrete. They also had a pupil in a wheelchair who had little to get involved with outside. The solution was a raised sensory garden at the right height for a wheelchair. Town & Country set to work designing and building the sensory garden, constructed out of railway sleepers, and planted out in four sections, taste, smell, sound and hear gardens were created.

The school then commissioned Town & Country to landscape the area around the new sensory garden, including a willow dome and tunnel, raised planters, gravel path and bark mulching.
Once this was all completed local MP Vernon Coaker officially opened the garden on May 2nd.
